Zilkee Lost File Recovery Pro
The latest version of Zilkee Lost File Recovery Pro is a major improvement over earlier releases. Combined with Zilkee's recovery hardware, it makes recovering deleted and corrupted files surprisingly simple.
The original Zilkee recovery hardware was a bit of a mixed bag, but under new ownership and with the latest release, the improvement is noticeable.
Lost File Recovery Pro is really two products in one. The included USB adapter lets you connect 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA drives, as well as older IDE hard drives, directly to a Windows or Mac computer. If the drive itself is healthy, you can often browse it like an external drive and copy your files immediately.
When that's not possible, the Recovery Wizard software takes over. It can recover deleted files, scan quick-formatted drives, and rebuild files from damaged file systems that Windows can no longer read. In cases where the original folder structure is lost, recovered files may be renamed with generic filenames, but the contents are often still intact.
Another advantage is that the software isn't limited to the included adapter. It can also scan USB flash drives, SD cards, external hard drives, and other storage devices that your computer recognizes.
No recovery software can restore data that's been physically destroyed or overwritten, but for accidental deletion, formatting mistakes, and many common drive failures, the latest version performs far better than earlier releases. If you tried an older version and weren't impressed, this update is worth another look.
